Cardiff/ Whiteford follows the tracks of the former past and the promise of a thriving traditional community. year takes place at the Streets in Delta. Demonstrations of traditional crafts and trades celebrate the heritage of the welsh immigrants who settled the area in the mid 1800s. Welsh folk music and traditional dancing celebrate the continuum that binds the community to its past. Welsh heritage will extend into Sunday, October 11, when the Gymanfa Ganu Welsh Singing Festival of sacred hymns, sung with four part harmony under the direction of Donald Boothman, with music by harpist Lu Girard. The Festival will take place at 2:30 pm at the Pendyrus Streets in Delta. Calvinistic Methodists, who wanted to worship entirely in their native Welsh language. The present building was constructed in 1891, and has been refurbished twice in 1929 and 1991.
